Tricahue is created by the concern of Alejandro Rivas, Karem and Simone Ruiz Caiafa to explore the timbral and expressive possibilities offered by the combination of percussion and saxophones, thus generating a new repertoire.
With the development of the group works they are commissioned prominent composers of the Chilean music scene who have contributed original works dedicated to this ensemble. Moreover, adaptations and arrangements of works written for other formats are made, creating unique versions of music of different styles, ranging from contemporary scholars genres of Latin American chilena- roots, jazz and music in general current.
With the intention to further expand the timbrística and stylistic diversity of the group members are added to this project. Olga Carrasco in the chinchín (percussion instrument popular Chilean) and percussion, Miguel Zarate on drums and percussion and Cristian Errandonea on bass and arrangements.
Tricahue, has been presented at important stages of which are: XII International Festival of Contemporary Music in Lima Erart, International Festival of Contemporary Music at the University of Chile, International Festival of Contemporary Music of La Serena MUSICAHORA, Telefonica Foundation Space, Space Matta, Spain Cultural Center and others.
Note that the group is awarded in early 2016 to a Dirac project for the realization of a tour of Poland, the Netherlands and Greece, which will be held during the month of June this year.
